Not the Best Laptop Portege Toshiba Has Produced

The Portege R400-S4832 may not be the best laptop portege Toshiba makes.

It does have some very nice features that anyone would like.

For instance, the 12.1" Widescreen XGA LED Backlight Display with High Brightness and Wide View Angle is terrific to watch movies and very bright. Additionally, it does have wireless broadband access (even though it is tied to Verizon). Road warriors will love that it is only 4 pounds. Everyone will dig the 2GB of RAM.

Now for the downside making this the best laptop protege Toshiba - NOT!

Most glaring of all is the price. You'll spend over $3,000 to get your hands on this baby. Ouch! I don't think most would use the tablet feature enough to warrant the expense. For this price, you could get an amazing desktop killer with a ton of bells and whistles.

Remember how I said the screen was great? Well, when you turn this not best laptop Protege Toshiba into a tablet and go out in sun you will change your mind. The high gloss screen gives a lot of reflection.

The other two major issues with this machine putting it in the not best laptop portege toshiba category are....

1. 1.2ghz speed! What? Yeah, it is a Core Duo, but most applications can't take advantage of the dual core. So you are stuck at 1.2GHZ (the speed of yester-year).
   
2. 80GB hard drive space. Come on. Let's get to 100+GB.

Anyways, there you have it. I put the Portege R400-S4832 in the NOT best laptop portege Toshiba category.
