GIVE IT TO DELL!! No kidding! Dell took the Inspiron 1420 laptop with Vista Home Basic and made it more expensive by putting on the free (see that again "FREE") operating system, Ubuntu. The price difference is $225. Wha is the cost to Dell? ZEEEROOO -- can we say free operating system? So would you call the Inspiron 1420 laptop with Ubuntu a best laptop? I doubt it. Thank you Dell for making what was going to be a great move not even close.

So PC Magazine came out with "The 25 Greatest PCs of All Time." It's a great read to go down memory lane. What's interesting is that 10 of the entries were "laptops." I put laptops in quotes because some of them, like the kaypro, stretch the term "laptop." ;-) Them there's the TRS-80. I remember calling them the TRASH-80!!! I wonder if these laptops would make it on the best laptops of all time? What do you think?

So, people seem to have finally figured it out! $100 laptops just don't work everywhere in the world. India is no exception. We always hear about how fast India is growing. This is true in the high tech sectors and a few other sectors. However, there is much of India that is still under-developed. I have traveled to India several times and have been in villages where there is no running water and no electricity. What good is a laptop with no power? No much. Well...
