“Pros: We don’t use Microsoft in my business. I installed Ubuntu 8.04.1 (downloaded from the link provided by the Dell Wiki) and everything worked like a charm on this machine. I recently upgraded our A860 to Ubuntu 9.04 and it’s even better, with a 22 second boot time and full-version Sun Microsystems’ Open Office 3.0. Now this laptop is READY for an open source business like mine! I LOVE the A860 and have recommended it to several friends. While I know that installing Ubuntu probably voids the warranty, this machine behaves as though it is ready-made for it.
