The best thin laptops…

Yes, I know it sounds weird “laptop best PC thinnest.” But hey, you get the point don’t you? You’re looking for the best laptop that is the thinnest laptop.

You realize that there is a conflict in making that statement — laptop best PC thinnest. The conflict lies in wanting the best laptop and also wanting the thinnest laptop. The reality is that you’re going to have to compromise somewhere.

If you want the best laptop then check out our article on the Dell XPS M2010 and the Alienware Aurora mALX. You’ll notice though that while these are killer laptops, they weigh a ton. Not exactly what you want if you are traveling a lot. The problem is, that in order to make a laptop light, manufacturers have to compromise on what they can pack in.

Most of us looking for great laptops that are also thin aren’t necessarily looking to do major gaming. What we want is something that is very functional but also has some great power to it.

There are a few laptops that I would consider as “laptop best PC thinnest.”

One of the key criteria for me is the weight. I only am looking at laptops that are under 6 pounds. Anything more than that and I wouldn’t consider it thin enough or light enough. Some of you are just entering into this consideration of getting light weight and powerful laptops. And you might think that a seven or 8 pound laptop is no big deal. Trust me, after your first trip carrying around an 8 pound laptop, you’ll see that 6 pounds is a very good measure.sony-viao-c150p-b

One laptop to consider is the Sony VAIO C150 P/B. it runs an Intel Core 2 Duo running at 1.66 GHz. It also has 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, Microsoft Windows XP professional, a 13.3 inch active matrix screen, and a 120 GB hard drive. All this in a package that only weighs 5.1 pounds. The drawback is that it will set you back over $1100 at least.dell-latitude-d630

Another laptop would be the Dell latitude D630. It also has an Intel Core 2 Duo running at 1.8 GHz, 512 MB of DDR2 RAM, Microsoft Windows XP Home edition, a 14.1 inch active matrix screen, and a 120 GB hard drive. This baby weighs also 5.1 pounds, but will only cost you about $850. laptop-best-pc-thinnest-dell-xps-1330

Now, my choice for the laptop best PC thinnest would be the Dell XPS M1330. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo running at a minimum of 1.5 GHz, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, Microsoft Windows Vista, a 13.3 inch passive matrix LCD, and up to 200GB hard drive. All this and it only weighs about 4 pounds — almost a pound lighter than the other two. For all this are going to pay about $1000. It even has a built-in web cam so that you don’t have to carry an external one with you. Remember, in picking the laptop best PC thinnest, you want to make sure you have as many components built into the laptop as possible. A built-in web cam is great. Also, having a built-in microphone so that you can do VOIP is essential without having to have an external microphone. Lots of hard drive space is also good.

There you have it, three laptops that would be great for the road warrior.
